FAQs

  • Do I need to know anything about art or wine to participate and enjoy the experience?
No prior knowledge in art or in wine-tasting is needed. Everyone can get something out of a Sartvourez™ gathering regardless of their knowledge level. Our evidence-based methods are designed to accommodate people with different degrees of experience to learn together. Sartvourez’s techniques also allow those who just want to have a genuine experience connecting live with a group of people in a fun and relaxed way.
  • Do I need to speak English to participate?
Yes. Because our events are highly interactive and conversational, there is a good chance that you will participate in the discussion. To do that, you will need a proficient level of spoken English in order to express your ideas and experience.
  • What happens during a Sartvourez event?
A Sartvourez event begins with the group carefully looking at works of art. You’ll practice using your observation, listening, thinking and communication skills looking at and appreciating the art. Very quickly, a lively discussion begins because we structure the conversation to make everyone comfortable with sharing their experiences. After warming up your skills with the art, you’ll be ready to actively taste and share your experience of the wines. We’ll take you on a similar process, guiding you to mindfully taste the wines with all your senses engaged. Through your focused tasting, you’ll become attuned to your sensory impressions, learning about the way you taste and gaining an appreciation for nuances of the wine. As with the art conversations, your inhibitions will diminish as you become more immersed in your experience and learning.
  • What’s the connection between the art and the wine?
The connection is the discussion framework we use to help you get comfortable with the process of engaging, learning and appreciating art and wine in a different way. Once you’re comfortable with the process, we use a similar method to guide you through wine-tasting. In this respect, the subject of the painting doesn’t really matter. However, when there is a theme to the experience, there are aspects of the artwork and wine that, directly or indirectly, relate to each other, or to the theme, or both.
